Miniature Schnauzer Puppy Care

Getting ready to bring a miniature schnauzer puppy home is and exciting time!  However, it requires some preparation before the arrival of a puppy. Our goal as a responsible breeder is to assist you in helping make the transition from our home to your home a smooth one. To make this happen we provide some helpful tips and information. Advance preparation before the arrival of your new puppy will help ensure a smooth transition for your puppy. 

1. Schedule an appointment with a licensed veterinarian.  It is very important to schedule your new puppy a vet appointment for a health exam in advance before the puppy arrives. As part of our health guarantee agreement we require you to take your new miniature schnauzer puppy to a licensed veterinarian within three business days of receiving a puppy from us, in order for our health guarantee to be valid. It is important to find a knowledgeable veterinarian and one you feel comfortable with. A good veterinarian will be your dog's next best friend.  ***Be sure to ask your veterinarian about Flea, Tick, & Heartworm Preventative. 

2. Shop for items your miniature schnauzer puppy will need.  Shopping for your new puppy is the fun part about getting a miniature schnauzer puppy! There are several things you will want on hand before your puppy arrives. 

Basic Supplies:

- Food & water dishes

- Leash

- Collar

- I.D. Tag

- Pet bed

- Pet carrier

- Chew toys

- Baby or safety gates

Grooming Supplies:

- Shampoo

- Conditioner

- Brush

- Metal comb

- Nail trimmers

- Tweezers

- Toothbrush/paste

Pet Nutrition: 

We will send home a sample of puppy food that will last approximately 2-3 weeks. We encourage you to feed your new puppy quality dog food. Puppies are constantly growing and need healthy and nutrient filled dog food. You will find quality pet food at any of the major pet stores, Petco, PetSmart, etc.
